Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux 2015
Pavillon Rouge is the historic second wine of Château Margaux. For the 2015 vintage, only 23% of the estate’s harvest was selected for this wine, and Château Margaux describes it as probably the finest Pavillon Rouge it had produced up to that point. The high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon gives structure and freshness, while Merlot brings a smooth, silky character.
A refined and beautifully structured Margaux with blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, floral notes, fine spice and a mineral touch. The palate is generous yet silky, with polished tannins, freshness and a long, elegant finish. Powerful without feeling heavy, it offers the grace of Margaux with enough depth and complexity for a special dinner or a serious wine collection.
Perfect with beef fillet, roast lamb, duck, game, truffle dishes, mushrooms, rich sauces and mature cheeses.
