53.00

Old vines planted just outside Gevrey-Chambertin give this Bourgogne Côte d’Or remarkable depth and structure.

It delivers the character of a village in Burgundy at a much more accessible level—exactly the kind of hidden gem Burgundy lovers search for.

Description

The Domaine Joseph Roty Bourgogne Côte d’Or “Cuvée de Pressonnier” 2022 is a serious and beautifully structured Burgundy Pinot Noir produced by one of the historic estates of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits. The fruit comes from old vines planted just outside the Gevrey-Chambertin boundary on clay-limestone soils, a site that once belonged to the village appellation and still carries much of its depth and character.

The wine opens with aromas of cassis, black cherry and ripe red berries with subtle hints of smoke and spice. On the palate it is lively and concentrated, offering layers of dark fruit, plum and delicate earthy notes supported by firm yet refined tannins and fresh acidity. The structure and energy of this Pinot Noir make it particularly enjoyable with roasted duck, grilled lamb, mushroom dishes or aged Comté cheese, where the wine’s depth and bright fruit beautifully complement savoury flavours.
