Calera Chardonnay 2019 Mt. Harlan
The Calera Chardonnay 2019 from Mt. Harlan, California is an elegant and expressive white wine grown in one of the most distinctive vineyard sites in the United States. The vineyards sit high in the Gavilan Mountains at around 2,200 feet, where limestone soils and a cool mountain climate allow Chardonnay to develop remarkable freshness and complexity.
The wine opens with aromatic layers of jasmine, citrus blossom and stone fruit, followed by notes of white peach, lemon zest and subtle vanilla from French oak ageing. On the palate it is both rich and vibrant, combining creamy texture with bright acidity and mineral tension that come from the limestone soils of Mt. Harlan. The balance of depth and freshness makes this Chardonnay particularly enjoyable with roasted chicken, grilled lobster, butter-poached scallops or creamy pasta dishes, where the wine’s richness and acidity complement delicate yet flavourful cuisine.
