The vineyard: Rays 2017 is a Cahors wine from the “Combel de Rayssou B763” plot, the “Ruisseau” in Occitan. The vines, aged 50 years, are planted on ferruginous siderolithic limestone soil at the top of hillsides at an altitude of 350 meters.

Winemaking and ageing: After the manual harvest, the grapes are destemmed and then vinified in the cellar in a natural way without oenological inputs. Vatting for 30 days. Fermentation and ageing in ovoid vats for 18 months.

Assembly: This Rays 2017 vintage from Fabien Jouves - Mas Del Périé is 100% Malbec.

Great complexity, harmonious and powerful, the nose reveals a penetrating aromatic around red and black fruits, violet and noble spices. On the palate, we are dealing with an exceptional Malbec, a powerful attack resonating with an elegant framework of light freshness, fine and stretched material with great amplitude and this balance on the edge so precise. The tannins are silky and the finish has an eternal afterglow for complete pleasure. Superb ageing potential.
