Domaine Rapet Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru AOP 2020
From the prestigious Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru on the Corton hill, this Chardonnay comes from vines up to 50 years old planted on steep, stony marl soils that give marked minerality. The wine is barrel-fermented (about 30% new oak) and aged around 12 months on lees, building depth and aging potential of 10–20 years, placing it firmly in the fine-wine Burgundy category.
Bright pale gold with great purity. The nose is intense and refined, showing white-fleshed fruits (pear, apple), citrus and white flowers, layered with almond, hazelnut and mineral nuances. On the palate, it is powerful yet precise, combining richness with vibrant acidity and a long, saline, mineral-driven finish.
