Description
Laurent Brotte was inspired by the image of the rare, unique, and handmade original La Fiole du Pape to showcase a super-premium wine with excellent ageing potential.
Each bottle has a unique iridescent and textured artisan décor handcrafted by a local Provençal glass blower.
A natural wax seals La Fiole Vintage.
The “Cuvée” is placed in a French-made lacquered wooden box.
Taken from one Châteauneuf-du-Pape barrel, only 300 exclusive, individually numbered bottles (on the label) of La Fiole Vintage 2006 were produced.
Colour – Deep ruby with orange hues.
Nose – Notes of red fruits with alcohol (cherry, blackcurrant liqueur), spices, garrigue (Mediterranean dry hills), truffles and orange peels.
Palate – Elegance, outstanding complexity and long-lasting notes of black fruit jam. Tannins are silky and fine, length is exceptional.
2006 is a classic Châteauneuf du Pape Vintage which has produced great wines. A cold and dry winter, followed by a hot July and cooler temperatures in August and September resulted in a perfectly ripened harvest. (healthy grapes with phenolic maturity).
The wines of 2006 were balanced, fresh and very fine, which was a sign of good ageing potential. Wines were generous and deeply coloured; with elegant silky tannins and good natural acidity.
Following hand harvesting, grapes were de-stemmed, gently crushed and vinified traditionally. The wine was matured for one year in an oak barrel to develop maturity and outstanding smoothness. The Cuvée has then spent ten years in a bottle in ideal conditions.
